What Is Revoke.cash? An Honest Review

Revoke.cash is a free, open-source tool that shows every token approval your wallet has ever granted and lets you cancel them. It is less a product than a public utility, and it belongs in the small set of tools I think every self-custody user should actually know how to use before they need it.

What It Is

Enter or connect an address and it lists your outstanding approvals across dozens of EVM networks: which contracts can spend which tokens, up to what amounts, granted when. Each row has a revoke button. Revoking is an on-chain transaction, so it costs a little gas and must be done per approval, per chain. There is also a browser extension that warns you what an approval or signature actually does before you sign it.

How People Actually Use It

Scheduled hygiene. A few times a year, review and revoke anything you no longer use. Old approvals are silent liabilities that outlive the apps they were granted to.
Post-incident triage. Signed something on a site that felt wrong? Revoke first, investigate second. Speed matters more than certainty.
Pre-purchase inspection. Looking up any address, including one you are about to buy an NFT from or interact with, costs nothing.

Strengths

Free and open source, funded by donations and grants. No token, no upsell funnel.
Read-only until you act. Viewing approvals requires no signature at all. Paste an address and look.
The extension closes the barn door before the horse. Plain-language warnings at signing time prevent the mistake instead of cleaning it up.

Weaknesses and Honest Warnings

Revoking cannot recover anything already taken. It stops future spending. If a drainer already swept you, revoke to stop the bleeding, then move whatever remains to a fresh wallet.
EVM territory. Solana's permission model is different; Solana users need their wallet's own tools.
Impostor risk, ironically. Fake revoke sites exist to drain the panicked. Bookmark the real URL now, while you are calm.
Gas costs add up if you have years of approvals on many chains. Cheaper than one exploit, always.

Who It Is Good For

Everyone with an EVM wallet that has ever touched a dapp. Full stop. It pairs with the two-wallet habit on my Security page: the vault wallet should have nothing to revoke, and the spending wallet should get cleaned regularly.
