What Is Bubblemaps? An Honest Review
Bubblemaps does one thing and does it memorably: it draws a token's holders as bubbles, sized by their share of supply, with lines connecting wallets that have transacted with each other. Ten seconds of looking replaces an hour of block-explorer archaeology. It has become the standard tool for answering the question every honest memecoin researcher asks: is this "community" actually five people?
What It Is
A holder-visualization tool for tokens and NFT collections across Solana and the major EVM chains. Big bubbles are big holders. Clusters of linked bubbles are wallets that fund each other, which usually means one owner wearing many masks. A supply chart that looks decentralized as a list can reveal itself as three connected octopuses the moment it is drawn.
How People Actually Use It
- Checking whether a fresh token's top holders are secretly one cluster, the visual signature of a bundled launch.
- Watching whether insider clusters are growing, shrinking, or feeding exchange wallets, which is distribution in progress.
- Investigating after the fact: journalists and sleuths use it to map where a rug pull's proceeds went.
- NFT collections too: checking whether a "sold out" mint mostly sold to its own creators.
Strengths
- It makes concentration visible. Holder percentages hide relationships; the map shows them. This is the single best fast check on the "is the float real" question.
- Cross-chain coverage including Solana, where bundle culture is loudest.
- Time travel. Rewinding the map shows how clusters formed, which is often the whole story.
Weaknesses and Honest Warnings
- Absence of clusters proves nothing. Serious operators pre-fund wallets through exchanges and mixers so no on-chain link exists. A clean map lowers risk; it does not remove it.
- Interpretation takes practice. Exchange wallets, market makers, and staking contracts show up as big bubbles innocently. Beginners see whales everywhere.
- Coverage and depth limits. Not every token is indexed, and the deeper investigation features sit behind paid access.
Who It Is Good For
Anyone who touches new tokens, honestly. Of all the memecoin research tools, this is the one I would keep if I could keep only one, because supply concentration is the variable that decides your exit.
